Venue on Main, a live music and private event space in downtown Belleville, IL, will host a solo exhibition of recent paintings by local artist, Michael Anderson, July 15-August 20, 2022, with public opening reception Friday, July 15, 5-8pm.
Michael Anderson, an award-winning gallery artist, has exhibited his works in numerous group and solo shows at area venues including Art Saint Louis and Art On The Square. He is a 2021 Belleville Mural Project artist and an active member of the Gateway East Artists Guild. The Belleville-based artist says “I look forward to the chance to exhibit my paintings in my hometown in Venue’s unique setting. The atmosphere at Venue on Main is less formal than a gallery and provides the opportunity for a new audience to see my work.”
Venue on Main, 202 W. Main Street, is part of Belleville’s Live Music Row scene, showcasing live music and a wine and spirits bar with retail wines, craft beers, and whiskies. Venue on Main regularly features singer/songwriters from Nashville, TN. Other Live Music Row venues include the Lincoln Theatre, Copper Fire, The Quarter, Seven, Bennie’s Pizza Pub and Margaritas Mexican Restaurant and Cantina. Michael is also a Gesso Magazine Feature Artist and Contributor.
