Artist Statement:
My current emphasis in mixed media coincide a specific visual language that defines subject matter and content. In this series of work animals represent the human soul and spirituality. They all carry a symbolic meaning and appear in myths, legends and many religions. The creative process of the work is based on repurposing materials, having the image superimposed by using photo transfers then adding form, atmospheric space and color theory. The resulting product is a culmination of my thought process as it is created. The catalyst for my imagery is inspired by the world of our natural and urban surroundings.
