Art has always been a passion of mine. I was homeschooled from 1st grade- High school and art became an outlet for me at an early age. I’ve worked with digital photography, jewelrymaking, digital art, and flow arts. This year is the first year I’ve felt comfortable enough with my artistic ability to put my work out there and it’s been an extremely rewarding experience.

My preferred medium is currently acrylic paint mixed with my own pouring recipe. It’s a messy process and it takes a while to perfect the ratio, but its well worth the effort. Paint pouring has become a part of my day-to-day life, I started working with this style back in February and it’s completely taken over my life in the best way possible. It’s my favorite style to work with because there are so many neat things you can do with it and each piece is completely original in its own special way. Paint pouring is a lot harder than it may look, and at times it can be very disappointing to watch some of your best work run off the canvas, never to be seen again. It’s bittersweet, but it teaches you how to be able to appreciate things in the moment, preserving what you can, and letting go of what you can’t.

When people look at my art I often want to remind them and encourage them to pick it up, flip it around, tilt it and turn it and see what you can find within the colors and the cells. My art is not meant to be viewed from my perspective alone and I love when people pick up my pieces and find things in them I haven’t found yet. It adds a whole new layer of meaning to that piece.

My future plans would be learning how to pour and mix colors with resin and honing my texture skills to achieve 3D cell effects. I also would like to get better with pigments and mixing my own pearlescent colors.
